Every year I go on a conference with my school to Rome to take part in a UN style conference and compete with other international schools, debating world issues is a huge thrill for me. I’m not the most popular of guys, in fact I mostly make my own company so I wasn’t looking forward to having the smelly geek two grades below me share a room with me for the second year in a row. However, this conference was to be the best yet. After listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers nonstop on a fourteen hour bus drive where I dozed in and out of sleep every couple of hours the coach finally pulled up outside the hotel where my school would be staying and attending the conference which would commence the following morning. It was dark outside, the chaperone got us to dump our bags in the hotel lobby straight after checking in and we went to eat dinner before going to our rooms. I looked at the nerd I’d be sharing a room with again as I sat alone at my table, still with Anthony Kiedis blaring in my ears. The guys on the trip sat on one table joking around, the girls on the other, already bitching. As much as I loved going to the conference I hated the sense of loneliness I felt. Once dinner was over the chaperone gave me the keys to my room and I headed down the long corridor as the rest of the group excitedly ran to their rooms, looking forward to gossiping and playing poker. I opened the door and saw the same twin beds that had been there last year and the same old wardrobe. I threw my suitcase down and started unpacking when a voice from the doorway made me jump. “Connor?” I said, surprised to see him standing there with his bags. “Hey Luke, you know Ashley got rushed to hospital with appendicitis last night, right? So it turns out I’ll be sharing a room with you this week,” he announced casually as he strolled into the room, putting his suitcase down at the end of one of the beds and laid down. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing; this was Connor Johns-Truman, one of the most popular, and most attractive guys in the school! I’d secretly always fancied him, he had the most gorgeous arse I’d ever seen and I had been lucky enough to slyly see it a few times when he’d pulled a moony in front of the girls at a few of the parties I’d been to in the past. He didn’t know I was gay, no one did and I was happy that was the case; there were no other gays in my school. Connor glanced at me, bringing me back to reality. “Are you all right mate? You’ve gone all red,” he said, sitting up. “I’m fine, just knackered,” I quickly replied, avoiding eye contact with him as I grabbed some shirts from my suitcase and chucked them into a bedside draw. “You don’t mind my sharing with you for the week, do you Luke?” Connor asked, trying to get my attention. “Of course I don’t, I’m pleased it’s you and not that little techie,” I responded, worried that I’d fucked up on first impressions, I really wanted to use this week to finally make a friend. “Cool. Well I’m gonna have a shower and…
